bout de papier, Vol. 8, No. 2 (1991) — Spring 1991 // Printemps 1991, p. 3
In the last issue, we indicated that the Retired Heads of Mission Association (RHOMA) would award $500 for the best article written by a PAFSO member in the last volume of bout de papier.
We are pleased to announce that the winner is Michael Small for his article on the Brazilian rain forest and two cultures under siege, “A Tale of Two Tribes” which was published in Volume 7, Number 3 of bout de papier.
The selection committee also wished to make Honourable Mention of two other articles. These go to Hugh Stephens for his article “Over the Khunjerab to Kashgar” (Volume 7, Number 1) and to Jim Gould for his review of “A History of Islamic Studies” (Volume 7, Number 3).
The members of the RHOMA selection committee were Bill Barton, Yvon Beaulne and John Starnes.
The Editor and members of the editorial board of bout de papier congratulate the winner and honoured contributors, and remind all members of PAFSO that we are looking for contributions to the magazine reflecting our life and how we see the world.
