After his doctorate in business administration, Georg Birgelen had postings in the German Foreign Service in Jakarta, Bonn, Panama and Brussels-EU. He is currently a German Exchange Officer with the Policy Planning Staff in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Mr. Birgelen will take up his assignment as Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ottawa this summer.
