Ottawa native Faye Kert retired from the federal government having served with the War Museum, the National Museums Corporation and Health Canada. With an MA in History from Carleton University and a PhD from the University of Leiden, she is among Canada’s foremost authorities on privateering, and has published several related key works. She is the Book Review Editor for The Northern Mariner / Le marin du nord.
