Doug Owram is Professor of History and Associate Dean of Arts at the University of Alberta. Among his books are two relevant to the Canadian public service. Building for Canadians. A History of the Department of Public Works (1979) and The Government Generation: Canadian Intellectuals and the State 1900-1945 (1986). He is currently working on a history of the baby boom generation in Canada.
