His Excellency, Fred Bild, Canada’s Ambassador to China, rides a camel along the streets of Beijing on his way to deliver toys to the children’s Christmas party at the Embassy in December 1992.
In a previous assignment as Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Bild has been known to arrive at similar children’s parties dressed as Santa and riding on an elephant or in a tuk-tuk — a local three-wheeled motor-cycle/taxi — both the locals and the kids were impressed! bout de papier’s only question is: One Hump or Two? Is this a Dromedary or a Bactrian?
